After our reports were finished, we painted! Keep checking our Kidblog site as the kids are uploading pictures of their finished landforms and reports.

As part of our place value unit, we made place value pictures. The kids then had to figure out how many squares they used.
We have been learning about Monarch Butterflies and their 3,000 mile migration to Mexico. Today we walked 1 mile around the gym with Mrs. LeCarno's class. Then we went back to class and used cubes to represent our 1 mile walk and their migration. We used place value boards to represent the 3,000 miles. Each tiny square equals one mile. See that tiny green square? That represents the mile that we walked today. We all agreed that butterflies are amazing creatures, because we were tired after just one mile! We also learned that butterflies can fly about 120 miles per day. The yellow and green rods represent one day of flying. How many days do you think it would take them to complete their journey? We made hand pollinators to help Joanie Appleseed, Johnny Appleseeds great-great granddaughter, on her apple farm. |
